gtk+-2.12.2 was released 4 days ago. Please bump.
Created attachment 137377 [details] gtk+-2.12.2.ebuild A working ebuild. Removed 2 of the patches found in the previous ebuild since they were fixed in 2.12.2
A 4-day bump request is hardly better than a 0-day bump request...
I'm fully aware that there is a new release out. However, this is not in portage on purpose as it comes with two third of the gtk reference documentation missing due to an issue with gtk-doc or gtk+'s usage of it in gtktoolbar.h documentation. Upstream is working on this issue and will release a brown-paper bug release as soon as this is fixed or worked around. Once that is done, that bump will go into portage, not this version that failed my QA. Additionally a test fails in it, but for that I already have a patch and it won't be a problem in 2.12.3 - http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gtk%2B?view=revision&revision=19076
(In reply to comment #3) Thanks for the explanation.
Thanks for your explaination on this, this makes our gentoo more stable.
I'll be my annoying self and note that 2.12.3 has been announced on the mailing list on Wed, 5 Dec 2007 04:52:07 +0000 (GMT).
I checked the changelog of 2.12.3, it seems the bug you mentioned has been fixed in this version, so when will 2.12.3 enter portage? There are bugs filed against 2.12.3 that say it rebuilds the docs regardless of --disable-gtk-doc (lack of USE=doc) and that will fail similarly as 2.12.2 did, as we do not have the fix for gtk-doc because it isn't released yet. I need to take some time to figure all this out, maybe a gtk-doc-1.9 version bump with the necessary patch included for gtk+ docs build (for the USE=doc case) and a patch to fix the dishonoring of --disable-gtk-doc to gtk+-2.12.3, if that's a real problem.
Before anyone complains, we _know_ gtk+ 2.12.5 is out. Thanks
gtk+-2.12.5 is in tree, it has several fixes including the doc generation part.
