I hacked together an ebuild for Mozilla Thunderbird based upon the phoenix-cvs ebuild and thought I'd contribute it. I'm not interested in maintaining it but I was hoping to get the ball rolling.

Created attachment 11233 [details] thunderbird-cvs.tbz2 took out enigmail support b/c it wasn't compiling
hey dude, wake up, not on the team
Cool - Is there any reason it can't get in portage? Seth: What do you mean??
Created attachment 11792 [details] updated thunderbird-cvs.tbz2 well, a good reason for it not to be in portage is that it doesn't really work. It builds and runs but with the old build there were issues with inputting text and building with gtk2. I changed a couple of things and took out gtk2 support and enigmail support and now it builds and runs just fine. It's just commented out for now because I'm assuming it'll work it's way back in eventually. In my experience it even plays nice with the phoenix-cvs ebuild. ** Make sure you delete your old /usr/local/portage/net-mail/thunderbird-cvs before unpacking this one as I renamed the ebuild to more accurately match the version number. **
Created attachment 11793 [details] the real one uploaded the wrong file, this is the right one...
The patch seems to fail... I've lost the file describing the failure when I tried remerging without patching :c) I think the patch cannot be applied now because the cvs sources have changed too many.
Created attachment 14330 [details] New Thunderbird-CVS ebuild This is a new ebuild based on mozilla-firebird-cvs-0.6-r2. Works for me, no patches required!
Created attachment 14359 [details] Fixed ebuild to allow for Compose of emails Attached new ebuild. The "--disable-composer" flag was left in. That's the only change.
new policy: no more cvs ebuilds in official portage tree
Okay, well considering that policy, and considering that anyone who wants a Mozilla Thunderbird CVS ebuild can get it from breakmygentoo.net, shouldn't this be closed?
