I cannot print a pdf-Document with evince (2.20.1). It simply prints blank pages. If you Print To File, you will see a PS file generated that contains the correct number of pages, but the page contents are blank. Same with print previews. Under OpenSolaris this seems to be fixed: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do;jsessionid=479df238a4ed0302de04c6436a6b?bug_id=6619196
Can't find a patch on opensolaris's bug tracker ...
I am not confirm with the opensolaris bugtracker. The url above shows: State 10-Fix Delivered:Verified (Fix available in build)
I can see that... That still doesn't tell us where we can get that patch, and if it's been applied in gnome's svn.
This is ChangeLog entry and patch from solaris. But I do not have possibility to check that it works and fixes the problem: http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/jds/spec-files/branches/gnome-2-20/ChangeLog#1762007-10-24 Darren Kenny <darren.kenny (a] sun.com> * base-specs/evince.spec, patches/poppler-01-uninstalled.pc.diff: Fix for bug#6619196 - [evince] evince prints blank documents. Need to change the uninstalled.pc files to point at the actualy .so locations rather than the .la files since configure fails when using the .la files in a compilation test. Patch from solaris: http://src.opensolaris.org/source/raw/jds/spec-files/branches/gnome-2-20/patches/poppler-01-uninstalled.pc.diff
I have now updated app-text/poppler-bindings and app-text/poppler both to version 0.6.2 (need to be unmasked in /etc/portage/packages.keywords). Then re-emerged evince, but problem stays the same: can't print pdf-files. If I convert the pdf-file to ps with "pdftops" the ps-file is complete. I have found other bug reports (but no solution): https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8956 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/160682
Just for the records: The recent update to version 2.20.2 solved the problem on my system.
