Dear Damien, Possible retirement pending as you haven't shown any activity few months (according to bugzilla, the last one was 166128: 2007-02-09 22:35:32). If you are just away, then please use the devaway system. Please be advised that devaway may also be considered inactive if it extends past 60 days. Please reply and advise on your situation. Any developer found to be inactive for a period in excess of 60 days is subject to be retired. Please be aware that if we have not heard from you within 2 weeks time, we will begin the retirement process. If we do retire you, it's pretty easy to come back when you are ready. Just do the ebuild/end-quiz again and you're back on.
Moving stuff to the new alias.
Hi, As I mentioned to phreak, I replied to this bug per mail, but it got lost I dunno how. Anyway here is more or less what I said : 1/ yes, I've been pretty busy with RL these months. 2/ the things I do for gentoo are mainly coding upstream stuff and maintaining the ebuilds of these software. 3/ I also maintain a very small number of ebuilds. The situation up to now is that the few ebuilds I maintain are up-to-date and have no new versions (booh-0.9 for instance will be released next year, but not before few months). For the rest, I devlop original gentoo programs, and maintain their ebuilds. That includes libconf, profuse, flagedit. Developping them is a long cycle, much longer than just maintaining ebuilds of software you don't write. So the cycle of my activities are long, that explains why I don't seem *very* active. The current plans I have is to modify flagedit to support directory based /etc/portage/package.* file. Then do the same with profuse. But I need time to do that. I'm not sure how you can say when it is worthwhile or not to have someone coding for gentoo. In my case I'm doing things slowly. I think it's better than not doing it at all. However, if you think differently, I would be happy to cease these gentoo activities...
Closing therefore.
