Whree's your info coming from on what's supported? Which driver versions support the HD 2000 series cards, and which ones support the X1300+ cards? Also, know anything about the new 3800 cards? A couple of 'em were just launched in the last coupla weeks; they're RV670-based, so sorta related to the R600 cards...know if they work in Linux yet?
(In reply to comment #2) > which ones support the X1300+ cards? Speaking of fglrx, I've been using it for about an year, so I guess there's no point in trying to document minimal version (which is probably hopelessly broken with recent kernels anyway). Speaking of free driver, the radeonhd driver is under development (ie. authors don't claim it's stable and it isn't in our tree), so Luca's patch seems fine to me.
about free drivers you may point xf86-video-avivo for r500 but they aren't in the tree and are work in process, I'm not sure if the new documentation from amd covers rv670 but I could check. I don't have access to any of those boards so I cannot say anything more.

Thanks for reporting and for the patch. Fixed in CVS. I also did some homework and added info for the HD 3000 series cards.
