In installing the new pingus ebuild I of course removed the mask on the package.
 The package once installed works just fine.  However it depended on clanlib 6.5
which also is masked.  I've unmasked that.  

Now the problem is on an "emerge -puD world" I get this error:

The only way around it I've found so far is to edit the clanlib ebuild and
remove the keyword mask.  Then I'm able to check for updates.  I've not run into
a problem like this before with anything else I've unmasked and used.
