Seems to be a parallel make issue.  It emerged fine with MAKEOPTS="-j1".

Wait for the package update in portage before closing the bug.

I'm always testing with insane flags and settings - including -j5. :-)

I can't reproduce the issue discussed here at all but does indeed look like a parallel make issue so I've made sure that -j1 is set. If this doesn't resolve your problem, please re-open this bug. Until then: Fixed in CVS.
