During emerge:
checking expat.h usability... yes

checking physfs.h presence... no

configure: error:  ASC requires the physfs library.
       If you have a distribution supplied physfs package installed,
       perhaps the physfs-devel package is missing.
       If your distribution does not include the physfs library, you can get it from
       http://www.icculus.org/physfs 

After emerging the dev-games/physfs package asc installs OK
