After stabilizaztion of gtk+-2.12.1-r1 and co, bug 198845, liferea's headline popup window has turned empty. It seems, that it displays size of window correctly, but there is no text in it. I mean if there is 15 new headlines, the window size is bigger than if were there only few headlines. I can reproduce this on two different machines. Reproducible: Always Portage 2.1.3.19 (default-linux/x86/2007.0/desktop, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.6.1-r0, 2.6.22-gentoo-r9 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.22-gentoo-r9 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1500MHz Timestamp of tree: Fri, 16 Nov 2007 07:00:01 +0000 app-shells/bash: 3.2_p17 dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.33-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.4.4-r6 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r6 sys-apps/baselayout: 1.12.9-r2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.18.1-r2 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.18-r1 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.24 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.22-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/share/X11/xkb" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/udev/rules.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium-m -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks metadata-transfer parallel-fetch sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans userfetch" GENTOO_MIRRORS=" ftp://trumpetti.atm.tut.fi/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.linux.ee/pub/gentoo/distfiles" LANG="en_IE@euro" LC_ALL="en_IE.UTF-8" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_COMPRESS="gzip" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages --filter=H_**/files/digest-*" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/n4g" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X a52 acpi alsa asf bitmap-fonts bzip2 cairo cdr cli cracklib crypt cups dbus dri dvd dvdread eds encode esd evo fam ffmpeg firefox gdbm gif glitz gnome gstreamer gtk gtkhtml hal iconv ipv6 java jpeg mad midi mikmod mmx mmxext motif mp3 mpeg mudflap ncurses nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin offensive ogg opengl openmp oss pam pcre pdf perl png ppds pppd python qt3support quicktime readline reflection samba sdl session spell spl sse sse2 ssl svg tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb userlocales vorbis win32codecs x86 xine xml xorg xv zlib" ALSA_CARDS="intel8x0" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="radeon" Unset: CPPFLAGS, CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, MAKEOPTS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS
I never use the headline popup, so I wouldn't have noticed this. I'll look into it. Have you tried just re-emerging liferea?
Okay, this works fine on the 1.4.x version of liferea (which has a different feed update system...) I'll have to try downgrading to the 1.2.x version to try that. (and wow, that feed update is annoying if you have a lot of feeds...)
(In reply to comment #1) > Have you tried just re-emerging liferea? > Yes, that was first thing I tried.
Since this works in lifearea 1.4.13, which is stable now, I think we could close this one.
Sure.
