The new packages.gentoo.org website has a small graphics glitch in the upper left corner. The Gentoo logo is too wide and covers some letters of the first package listed. Screenshot will follow. Happens with newest stable firefox (happened with earlier versions, too) and konqueror, independent of windows width Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open packages.gentoo.org

Jaroslaw: are all 4 of your browsers set to use the same fonts and base sizes?
Created attachment 136694 [details] Page look under Opera 9.5 beta 4 - using Tahoma 16 font. Screenshots are from different browsers that use different fonts and font size. It is possible to set browser in a way that page looks good (see attached image), but in my opinion size of the left menu should be equal to size of the logo. Font size shouldn't decrease size of this menu below the weight of the logo. Page is also not valid XHTML document and has some problems with ul and html tag. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fpackages.gentoo.org%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

I fixed up the XHTML validation issues, and somebody is now working on a narrower logo that fixes the issue properly.

@wltjr: Here is a free font that looks very similar to the one in the logo: <http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/larabie/steelfish/regular/> Licence is here: <http://www.myfonts.com/viewlicense?id=7>
Font is good, I will remake graphic ASAP and submit/commit it.
Created attachment 142026 [details] Upper left corner in Firefox 2.0.0.11 (In reply to comment #15) > Font is good, I will remake graphic ASAP and submit/commit it. Good work, thanks. However, there is still a small problem: The image has a border width different from zero, which results in a step to the rest of the banner. Attached image shows the problem. Adding border=0 to the IMG element, or the following code to the style sheet fixes the problem for me: #banner img { border: 0; }
Ok, all fixed finally.
