Description William Halliburton 2007-11-14 19:43:53 UTC
Upgrade to 2.0 failed on my two machines.

There is another resolved bug 180985 that this is also shown, so I am resubmitting.

Patch for acctail-2.0

Compiles and runs fine with version 3 (you need to pass the -3 option), but segfaults for versions 1 and 2. Didn't test with non-v3 kernel.

Patch for acctail-2.0

Sorry, forgot to delete that one debugging message...
Comment 7 Kobboi 2008-10-27 15:29:06 UTC
Same problem, but patch works. Why isn't it in the portage tree? :/
Comment 8 Kobboi 2008-10-27 15:37:59 UTC
Hmm, it compiles, but it doesn't work. I start acctail, start a gnome-terminal afterwards and acctail crashes, with some (illegal?) output.

Updated patch that fixes segfaults

Please note that if you run acctail on a system using v3 process accounting, without the -3 flag, it will produce nonsense output for the process name and will probably segfault quite quickly as well.
