I still fail to understand your issue here. Getting this report translated to a readable English would really help.

And which compiz version is this about?

my gconf compiz setting
Comment 10 Michele Schiavo 2007-11-09 12:16:23 UTC
on default workspace switcher have 4 square.
So after the login i start /usr/bin/compiz-start.
the workspace switch don't show the shadow of windows.

I go in compiz setting and i change in the general option the number of desktop.

JUST when I change it, the number of square if workspace switch will be correct.
(the same value from general option of compiz)

And workspace switch show the shadow of windows.

I think when compiz start, the workspace switch work with 4 desktop and in each desktop there is 1 cube.

After change the value from compiz setting, the workspace select show the same number of desktop set in general option.

And if i set in general option of compiz 1 dekstop, workspace swith will show 1 rectangle and can swith from the face of the cube.

Other issue.

Not always this solution solve the problem.

There are some plugin can broke this solution and leave the bug.

So i send my compiz setting. I make a .tar of .gconf/app/compiz

Why don't you just remove the gnome's workarea selector from your panel? Tell me a reason for having it when you work upon *faces* of a cube. This is not a bug, really.

Because after do that workarea will show the shadow of the window of every face of the cube.

P.S. On other distro the workarea is working good.
But they will use gnome 2.6.20

So i think this was a bug.

I have stopped using beryl/compiz/compiz-fusion etc. for some time, so maybe you have a point here(if we discuss the compiz-fusion issue for stabilization and testing purposes). It's a developers decision whether this is a bug or not, so,the only thing I can do, is to try to explain what you're "trying" to describe here. Ok, Michele says(from my point of view) that he starts compiz-fusion in gnome, and the work area selector stays as it was in the *default* gnome/metacity. And then, he does some hacks which result to a work area selector as it should be in compiz-fusion *with* gnome. Michele, if you don't provide your "emerge --info" your gnome's version and your compiz-fusion's version,no one here, is going to help you. Also try to reload again and again compiz to see if you solve the problem. For me, it has to do with the panel refresh after compiz loading or something. We shouldn't forget that these things are still experimental, and they are still keyworded(~arch). Hanno, will know better.

Comment 16 Michele Schiavo 2007-11-10 11:27:50 UTC
I know this is ~arch software.
Perhaps this will be solved with gnome 2.6.20 or new version of compiz.
I notice that and i open the bug because i saw compiz fusion in other distro and gnome workspace is working good.
i'd like gentoo will be better like others.

...

Now i try to remove and after add sorkspace again but it show as "gnome default"

I will attach my emerge --info and package.keywords

I hope my bug will help developer and not lose they time.

P.S. Thank's to all the developers for make gentoo... So i can use it.
