The current version of esmtp in portage is esmtp-0.5.0-r2, but version 0.6.0 was released about 2 months ago. Note this update will be masked independently due to http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198105
Hello -- Just had a bitch of a time tracking down a major bug fixed in version 6.0. Can we PLEASE get this fixed????
The major bug fixed in version 6 means I can send email from scripts via AOL SMTP, even if the script produces a <CR><LF> instead of the unix \n It wasn't until I had a simple, simple email which would go to compare with one produced by the script which wouldn't. Difference? Line endings. Looking at the change log for version 6.0, this bug was fixed. So, there is a very good reason to bump this to the latest version, or at LEAST put an ebuild in the tree. Short of applying to be part of the solution, how do I make sure this 0.6 will be available on my next sync? Simply re-naming the ebuild and running a digest on it build with no problems. And fixed a major bug in the chain of programs.
Created attachment 159643 [details, diff] Ebuild for mail-mta/esmtp-0.6.0 The mail-mta/esmtp-0.5.1 ebuild renamed. Compiles on x86.
Bumped to 0.6.0
