Description Kelvie Wong 2007-11-04 05:19:01 UTC
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134820

It is the exact problem outlined in this link. Some sound cards (*glares at Intel*) don't have a master channel; kmix allows you to set which channel to use as the master (such as PCM, or Front), but KMilo doesn't respect this post 3.5.7, and pre that fix above.

The *old* bug is resolved, but it came back after a certain change in 3.5.7 that changes KMilo to use the absolute volume settings rather than the relative ones in KMix.

Attached (on the link) are patches for kmix and kmilo that I wrote to fix this. It's rather trivial, and I've tested it to work on my system (~amd64).

Reproducible: Always

Thanks, Kelvie! Please open a new upstream bug (if there isn't one already) for this, though, as requested on the old bug to make sure upstream notices it.
