Description David Gurvich 2007-11-03 03:34:47 UTC
The new version of ffmpeg works very well with mplayer, ok with vlc-0.9, terrible with xine-lib. All applications that use xine-lib as the sound engine to playback mp3 files play at double speed. Reminiscent of the Chipmunks with added cracks and pops. Other media play with no problem, only mp3 files and streams. Currently using 20071002 ffmpeg from svn but problem was the same with 20070616 and is what prompted me to try newer version.

Vlc works on many files, not all, but I always get a message that my system is too slow. Mplayer works with everything very well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install new ffmpeg
2.Rebuild xine-lib
3.Try to play an mp3

Actual Results:
Double speed playback with cracks and pops.

New version of xine-lib from cvs asof Nov. 21 fixes the issue.
