Seems to be som conflicting versions; # emerge -puD world These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating world dependencies | !!! Multiple versions within a single package slot have been !!! pulled into the dependency graph: ('ebuild', '/', 'media-libs/libprojectm-0.99-r1', 'merge') pulled in by ('installed', '/', 'media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.3.5', 'nomerge') ('installed', '/', 'media-libs/libprojectm-1.01', 'nomerge') (no parents) It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can not be installed simultaneously. For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. ... done! media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.3.5 has opengl? ( =media-libs/libprojectm-0.99* ) perhaps it should instead have opengl? ( >=media-libs/libprojectm-0.99 )
Yeah, package.mask it.
To confirm, I have removed the projectm dependencies and stopped the ebuild from enabling the functionality. We'll reconsider using projectm when their upstream stops rocking the boat with ABI breakages and releases that don't work on AMD64.
Reopening the bug so I can close it properly.
