With a minimal document (attached below) I get the following error when trying to run latex with it:

The test.log is attached below, too.  With the latest teTeX this document processes without any problems.  I've installed the latest versions of the dev-texlive packages for ~x86.

could you please upgrade to >=texlive-core-2007-r3 ?
then run etc-update to update the configuration, and then texmf-update
there was a bug in the config files that allowed a too small stack for some latex documents, it has changed in -r3

I already had -r3 installed, but I didn't run texmf-update which fixed the problem.  Thanks a lot for the quick help.
