Description Jakub Paluszak 2007-10-28 10:34:21 UTC
More or less after updating glibc to 2.6 (I don't know if the problem is related) mail-notification started crashing after few minutes.

Reproducible: Always

Not Gnome. Also, see http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml on hints how to get a _useful_ backtrace.
Comment 2 Jakub Paluszak 2007-10-29 23:01:03 UTC
First, I tried different versions of mail-notification available in the portage, but they crash exactly the same. This is the backtrace I got after following the instructions on the web page you pointed out. First, I recompiled mail-notification like this:

     CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O1 -ggdb" CXXFLAGS=${CFLAGS} LDFLAGS="" USE="debug" FEATURES="nostrip" emerge -1 mail-notification

And I got the following bug-report:

Comment 3 Jakub Paluszak 2007-10-29 23:02:32 UTC
> And I got the following bug-report:

I mean backtrace from gdb.
Comment 4 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2007-10-30 20:02:34 UTC
I'm afraid that this will be very hard to debug without a reproduceable case (and mail-notification works fine for me). I've also checked upstream's bug database, and there are a few possible bugs that may be the same as this one although the backtrace is not quite similar.

Comment 5 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2007-11-25 14:55:34 UTC
I'm closing this bug because we can't do much about it without more information.
