I propose the following paragraph about bcron to be added to the guide: --------------------- bcron bcron is a new cron system designed with secure operations in mind. To do this, the system is divided into several seperate programs, each responsible for a seperate task, with strictly controlled communications between them. The user interface is a drop-in replacement for similar systems (such as vixie-cron), but the internals differ greatly. For more information see the bcron hompage at http://untroubled.org/bcron/. Features of sys-process/bcron: * drop in replacement for vixie-cron * multi process design * native daylight savings time support --------------------- thanks!
I'll add it once it's stable for all arches.
Changing dependencies; our documentation depends on whether or not this package will ever be stabilized. If not, then we won't document it.
nightmorph: my reasoning was the other way around: because its not documented it cant be called stable... that turns out to be a misconception, so i'll bug you again, when its time. thanks
Reopening now that it's been added to Portage and will be marked stable, see bug 89213.
hhm, x86 is already stable - i forgot to tell you about it... sorry!
Thanks for reporting; added bcron info to the guide.
