this is a problem since the new (1.9.1) portage... 

in my problem "emerge yelp" pulls in the needed deps, but emerge gnome-2/yelp
does not... this is bad  :/

do you have an example of an ebuild _on our portage tree_ that can be used to
replicate this bug?

Gah, this magically went away after a clean re-emerge of portage, I'm doubting
my sanity.
