Description Silvio 2007-10-24 06:31:51 UTC
I've installed new kde builds (3.5.8). I notice that, after installing kdesktop-3.5.8, if I right-click in an empty area (desktop, inside konqueror ...) I get a context menu WITHOUT create new folder and many other menu I had before.
It make konqueror unusable. Using other file manager (as d3lphin or krusader, of course the problem doesn't exist).

I'm sure it is kdesktop because (due to the manifest problem in the first version of this package) I couldn't install just in one pc (in this pc I've installed all new packages apart of this one) and this pc is the only one that has a correct context menu.

Thank you for all job you do, I hope to give you an help.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (if you want to control before:) Install kde 3.5.8 packages without kdesktop-3.5.8 and the context menu is regular
2. Install kdesktop and the context menu looses many voices (for instance "create new folders"

Actual Results:
I use Italian Version.
The context menu have "Crea .." and the submenu that appears has JUST "Collegamento a dispositivo" and not "Nuova cartella" "Nuovo file" etc.
In English I think they are:
"New.." -> "Device Link" (not "new folder" "new file" etc.)

Expected Results:
I aspect the correct menu, for instance with the possibility of creating new folders

SOLVED: It's enough to re-emerge kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves
