While trying to emerge mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8, this error happens, causing the merge to fail: Couldn't download 'mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-patches-0.2.tar.bz2'. I concur, with a different set of mirror sites. patches-0.1 exists, but patches-0.2 does not. mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-pa-IN.xpi 20-Oct-2007 01:29 158K mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-patches-0.1.tar.bz2 21-Oct-2007 21:08 30K <mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-patches-patches-0.2.tar.bz2 would be here> mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-pl.xpi 20-Oct-2007 01:29 167K
@armin76 - faileees! :P
Yup, it's missing on my mirrors as well, as well as on all the ftp sites it tries when the mirrors fail.
Same here: !!! Couldn't download 'mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-patches-0.2.tar.bz2'. Aborting. * Fetch failed for 'www-client/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8'
(In reply to comment #1) > I concur, with a different set of mirror sites. patches-0.1 exists, but > patches-0.2 does not. > The 2.0.0.8-patches-0.1 archive is different from 2.0.0.7-patches-0.1, and 2.0.0.8-patches-0.1 is not used anywhere in the mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8 ebuild, so I guess the maintainer just forgot to change (or not change) the number in the ebuild. Just open /usr/portage/www-clients/mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8.ebuild, and change PATCH="${P}-patches-0.2" to PATCH="${P}-patches-0.1". Then, execute `ebuild /usr/portage/www-clients/mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8.ebuild digest`, and emerge Firefox as usual.
The correct path to the ebuild is /usr/portage/www-client/mozilla-firefox/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8.ebuild www-client, not www-clients :-) Apart from that, this workaround, well, works. ^^
It will be in the mirrors in 4 hours, Meanwhile you can download it from http://dev.gentoo.org/~armin76/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.8-patches-0.2.tar.bz2 Sorry about that :)
