s. Summary: The 1.5.2 version of virtualbox was released recently and fixes a good amount of long-standing bugs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
I added this to my developer overlay. http://overlays.gentoo.org/dev/betelgeuse/browser/app-emulation Jokey: There are some fixes to the src_install you probably want to use. I did not test the use flag combos so other configurations than the one I use can be broken. (For example -alsa)
I just rename 1.5.0-r1 -> 1.5.2 (ebuild and patches) and all work well. app-emulation/virtualbox-1.5.2 USE="alsa -additions -nowrapper -sdk -vboxbfe"
Hi, maybe i'm a bit late but there is a version bump for virtualbox-1.5.2 on jokey's overlay[1]. There is a lot of new stuff for: app-emulation/virtualbox app-emulation/virtualbox-bin - patches for virtualbox bumped (alsa, splitted-stuff). - new license file for app-emulation/virtualbox-bin (needed at startup). - new configuration files in /etc/vbox/ to reflect instructions described in the VirtualBox User Manual. - the old wrapper is gone, now the wrapper from Innotek is used (VBox.sh) this new wrapper doesn't take care of the VBoxSVC process, because the application itself (VirtualBox,VBoxManage, etc) can launch and shutdown VBoxSVC. - the new script VBoxAddIF.sh was added (it provides VBoxAddIF, VBoxDeleteIF), this script helps users with the management of persistent tap devices, recording new devices in /etc/vbox/interfaces, VBoxTunctl was added too. - sys-apps/usermode-utilities and net-misc/bridge-utils are added to RDEPEND. - nowrapper USE flag is gone, the default installation now includes the wrapper. - old/deprecated frontends/utilities (VBoxBFE,vditool, etc) are now removed. - executables names are again not lowercase to reflect instructions described in the VirtualBox User Manual. Special attention as said before, in reflect VirtualBox Manual instructions. Now there are many new utilities available exception done for initiscripts: virtualbox: not sure if an initscript is really useful to load/unload a single kernel module. vboxnet: we can use baselayout for bridges creation [1] http://overlays.gentoo.org/dev/jokey/browser/trunk/app-emulation
