I tried to install testing version media-video/vlc-0.9.0_alpha20071009 but I have got a skin2 interface error. So I decided to uninstall it and install back stable version media-video/vlc-0.8.6c. After that, during the startup of the stable VLC, I have got the same error message as with the testing version:

[00000264] skins2 interface error: no suitable dialogs provider found (hint: compile the wxWidgets plugin, and make sure it is loaded properly)

I tried to recompile wxGTK and VLC many times but I have got still the same error message. I don't really know what could be wrong.

My USE flags:

vlc --reset-plugins-cache -v

and could you please sync again, it seems a dupe of bug #196192

I have synced the portage tree, I have removed /usr/portage/distfiles/vlc-* and ~/.vlc and I have recompiled VLC and now it works! Thank you for the cooperation.
