Works fine for me in KDE 3.5.8. Can you please try to update your KDE?
(In reply to comment #1) > Works fine for me in KDE 3.5.8. Can you please try to update your KDE? > kde 3.5.8 is still masked with ~x86 and I have to run a x86 system for stability reasons. If this is the only solution, I'll wait until it will be unmasked (it is a minor bug).
(In reply to comment #2) > kde 3.5.8 is still masked with ~x86 and I have to run a x86 system for > stability reasons. Well, in the case of KDE, the packages in kde-base marked testing/unstable usually are at least as stable as their stable-marked counterparts. As this is fixed in 3.5.8, I'm closing this bug.

Could you please try to get a meaningful backtrace? See http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml
Created attachment 143992 [details] gdb backtrace
Comment on attachment 143992 [details] gdb backtrace I have compiled kde-base/kdelibs with debugging options and following the instructions given on the website I have got the attached backtrace. I hope it is useful for you. Max
