Description Robert Buchholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-16 18:06:56 UTC
Please review, test and mark stable Herrie, the command line music player.

Along with it should go stable uriparser and libspiff, so it's
  dev-libs/uriparser-0.5.2
  media-libs/libspiff-0.8.0
  media-sound/herrie-1.8.3

It's everyone's first stabilization, so please test at least one of the audio
outputs that you can enable with USE flags. You can only enable one output at a
time (I recommend trying alsa, oss and ao).

For testing the autosave feature (for which libspiff is needed),
enable USE=xspf and add to your
/etc/herrie.conf:
playq.dumpfile=~/.herrie/autosave.xspf

Then, after adding a file to the playlist and restarting herrie, the file
should still be there. This makes sure libspiff and uriparser actually work.

Thank you!

media-sound/herrie-1.8.3 on AMD64:

Emerges fine, No Collisions. Works with ao, alsa, and oss output.

One thing to note is herrie couldn't create the ~/.herrie directory on its own so autosave wasn't working, but when I manually created ~/.herrie it autosaved and the feature worked fine...

sparc will stabilize it if some user requests it, we don't have to much hardware to test, sorry
