There are two patches for v4l2 available from bytesex.org. I know that http://bytesex.org/patches/2.4/11-v4l2-api-2.4.20.diff.gz is required, and I believe that http://bytesex.org/patches/2.4/01_videodev-2.4.20.diff is also wanted. I'd rather not have to use the vanilla sources so that I can use this patch, but the WinTV PVR 250 driver requires the newest v4l2 patches. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge gentoo-sources 2. cd /usr/src/linux 3. wget http://bytesex.org/patches/2.4/11-v4l2-api-2.4.20.diff.gz 4. zcat 11-v4l2-api-2.4.20.diff.gz | patch -p1 Actual Results: The patch fails to apply because an earlier version of the v4l2 api has already been added to the kernel sources. Expected Results: The patch should have applied successfully (but it can't, obviously)
After looking in the directory a bit more, you may also want to pick up http://bytesex.org/patches/2.4/30_tuner-2.4.20.diff patch. There also seem to be some patches for the bttv driver, but I don't need them so I'm rather indifferent there.
changing this to an enhancement (cause it is). i'll look @ incorporating these into a pfeifer-sources release and if all looks good, i will see about moving into gentoo-sources. Jay
look @ pfeifer-sources-2.4.20_pre8 it has these patches and a bit more. they follow on into the next gentoo-sources. Thanks, Jay
