I had several RANDOM problems while trying to emerge kdelibs.

It seemed to be a hardware probleme or overheat probleme.

I bought a brand new uber powered cooling CPU FAN and reduced CPU from 48°C to
38°C (this is really low), I bought a new high quality RAM STICK and removed my
old ram. drew down CAS latency to 3.

My Random problemes are gone.

I don't have any hardware or overheat problemes, i'm sure of that.

But, I still can't get kdelibs to emerge.

But, (yeah my english vocab is not very wide), this time, It failes at the same
point.

You can find the "emerge info" result here :
http://spcmnet.com/share/tmp/kdelibsbug/info.txt

and the whole output LOG of "emerge kdelibs" here :
http://spcmnet.com/share/tmp/kdelibsbug/emerge.txt

Here is the moste interesting part of "emerge.txt" :

About the Auth error : It's just cause I was running with "su"emergeing with root gets exactly the same exepct the auth error message.
Comment 3 Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-22 09:12:53 UTC
Philippe, could you check wether this bug is the same as
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12533 ?
Comment 4 Philippe Nikolaïvich Mironov 2003-04-22 09:47:50 UTC
Negative

/usr/X11R6/bin is in root PATH

The auth errore only occures when emergeing in su
While loging with root this lines dispear.

All the rest is exactly the same (but the auth error message).
Comment 5 Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-22 12:49:51 UTC
What happens if you run with CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe" and an equal CXXFLAGS?
Comment 6 Philippe Nikolaïvich Mironov 2003-04-23 01:13:12 UTC
IIRC, I already tryed to compile with "march-athlon-xp -O0 -pipe" with same results.

But I better have another test (I don't remember if I perforemed this compile test AFTER I changed hardware).

I'll release a new report as soon I get in front of that computer (by the week-end)

Best regards,

Philippe
Comment 7 Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-06-16 01:15:50 UTC
Does it allready work for you? If it doesn't please try to remerge qt and then try again with the new kdelibs.
Comment 8 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-07-07 13:17:53 UTC
Closing due to inactivity. If you have similiar problems when the latest versions of Qt and
KDE please file a new report.
