Description Randy Kahle 2003-04-18 07:51:02 UTC
When installing Gentoo for various purposes (server, workstation, etc.) I find that
I need to make extensive changes to the USE flags.

Ufed is a great utility for this.

It would be very helpful to have this utility on the LiveCD distribution CDROM.

The work-around is to emerge ufed, but that brings in 30 other packages and
takes a lot of time.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

I also would like to have ufed on the livecd and/or stages. My thought is that one would need it earliest before bootstrapping but after chroot. Especially for newbies (counting me to them though I already have set up some gentoo boxes) ufed is invaluable!

BTW: Ufed is not on i686-1.4-20030911-cd1.iso so I am inclined to think the the fix for this bug is the note taken! For me, this is clearly not a fix.

Also it is not included in gentoo 2004.0 test stages. Last one checked was 20040204-x86.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
