Description Roy Marples (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-10 12:09:39 UTC
Richard would like to join Gentoo primarily to look after the Eternal Lands game which I no longer have the time or patience for.

He's already an AT, so I expect he'll probably go on to join the arch teams proper.

For one package I would suggest proxy maintenance but if he will join the arch teams then I am fine with it. Please CC the arch teams in question.

While eternal-lands was what kind of pushed me to take this step I don't really plan on limiting myself to only one package (although it is a nice way to start slowly). I'm already generally familiar with the amd64 arch team so that would be a broader area of responsibility that I could get involved with as well. I haven't approached them about becoming a full dev yet, but as long as they have no objections I don't mind working with them as well. (I assume I should just CC amd64@gentoo.org for this?) In any case, I wouldn't plan on touching anything owned by anybody without coordinating with them (which seems to be the golden rule here).

Just an FYI for the record - I did talk to one of the amd64 operational leads and they're fine with having me in the herd - they'll work with me on the amd64 operations.

Also - I emailed my end quiz to recruiters...

Good. So have them say so in this bug, please. We need it here for archiving purposes.

I'll have a look at them. In the meantime contact me privately with your availability so that we can set up the review.

Denis.

Richard is approved to join the amd64 arch team.

Richard, please contact me with your availability for the review. We'll find you a new mentor for your probation period.

Denis.

What ? I get to close bugs now ?

So you're all set now. If you miss something it's not my fault. And don't try to contact me, I don't exist.

Have fun. ;o)

Denis.
