Maybe you could post some description of what does this thing do? (Also, fix DESCRIPTION in the ebuild to tell something real about the thing).
Comment 3 Fabio Bonfante 2007-12-29 15:35:14 UTC
"PyTube is a GUI for various command-line tools such as: youtube-dl, sox, mplayer, mencoder, ffmpeg and others It allows you to resize, rotate, apply an external mp3 into a video, generate a 10 to 30 seconds mp3 ring tone"... etc

maybe category media-video is more appropriated.

PS.
There's a gentoo ebuild on the software site (file not available now), i'm contacting the author to ask him to post the ebuilds here too.
Comment 4 Christian Häßler 2008-04-20 19:20:04 UTC
Is there a way to check in a ebuild if mplayer is build with USE="encode"? Cause this should be checked.

The URLs in that ebuild are no longer valid and after some quick digging, I've found it's new home: http://marcosrodriguez.me/pytube/

I don't know much about how to write an ebuild, but this should help someone at least get this ready and into portage right?

pytube-0.0.11.5.ebuild

New Version. Temporarily used my webspace to store the paket cause the original location doesn't work for me.

I guess this project is yet another try to write a Python wrapper for downloading YT videos? We've got youtube-dl already in the tree, it's in Python and it works very well. Closing.
