I emerged Quanta. After that, when I tried to open URLs in e-mail, or in kemerge, they were opened with Quanta (wich was not able to display them) instead of Konqueror. So, in "Associazioni file" (where you can choose wich program opens which file type) I removed Quanta from html. Then KDE was still unable to open URLs (it asked wich program to use). I tried using Konqueror and KHTML in "Associazioni file" but it still doesn't work. I also cannot open html files by left-clicking on them on the desktop, and cannnot use "Nuova finestra" (new window, ctrl+N) in Konqueror. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Emerge Quanta. 2. Click on a link in a e-mail, or in kemerge. Actual Results: The links are opened by Quanta instead of Konqueror. Expected Results: The links should have been still opened by Konqueror. Make sure that konqueror is listed as an association for html. You could also check: /usr/kde/3.1/share/applnk/System/kfmclient_html.desktop Its main contents(I cut away some name parts) should be: [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Type=Application Exec=kfmclient openURL %u text/html Icon=konqueror Terminal=0 MimeType=text/html;application/xhtml+xml InitialPreference=9 NoDisplay=true Name=Konqueror Also there should not be a ~/.kde/share/applnk/System/kfmclient_html.desktop file
Deleting ~/.kde/share/applnk/System/kfmclient_html.desktop resolved the problem, but I think that the installation of Quanta should not have such effects. Anyway, thank you very much.
I guess something went wrong along the way when you installed quanta, which we're probably never going to find out. Anyway, I'm closing this bug
