Description The Fallen 2003-04-17 10:32:14 UTC
Ok, linux nearly runs, only gnome is missing. So i emerge it and got a big
part. But then the installation emerges the "gst-plugins-0.6.0-r4.tar.bz2"
package and installs it. i guess its near at the end of the installation of
this package when it exits by a step "make: *** [all] error2" "" "(no error
message". until that i followed the desktop installation guide (english). what
can i do?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.merged and configured xfree (new installation)
2.merged gnome and waited...
3.gnome merges "gst-plugins-0.6.0-r4.tar.bz2" package and installs it
Actual Results:
installation progress of the package cancels

Expected Results:
install it and merge on

sry, don

Uhhmmmm.... sry, im a noob, how can i copy and paste in gentoo or how can i save the emerge output into a file? :/ plz help me, my eyes are aching by xfree ;D

Does it say something about dvdnav or something before? (You can scroll in the console with shift+page up or down)
It messes with me to.. And it complains about some dvdnav stuff then.. USE="-dvd" emerge gst-plugins makes it emergable.. But it isn't the "best" way to go. I'll post the output when I can cut and paste (I'm in lynx right now)

I got the same problem I think. Does it complain about some dvdnav stuff before you get that last error message?
USE="-dvd" emerge gst-plugins
Fixes so you can continue to emerge gnome.. But it probably needs to be overlocked anyways. Ill post a output when i can copy and paste. Im in lynx right now.

Yes, i tried and it worked! I think this is a mayor bug, it should be fixed soon, but i still dont know how to copy etc :)

well, i couldn't reproduce this with or without dvd.

can someone post a build log of this happening? you can do it by doing:

USE="dvd" emerge gst-plugins 2>&1 | tee /tmp/build.log

and attach /tmp/build.log to this bug.
