nfs init script does not work when /bin/sh is a symlink to dash (with baselayout-2) because of syntax errors in a couple of arithmetic expressions.

i dont really care if it works in dash or not ... the script is POSIX compliant and that is all that matters

dash-0.5.4-r1 has a patch that makes its arithmetic POSIX compliant.
