No. The problem is the kernel is too old. This will obviously happen with newer hardware being released. Since the fix is already in the kernel, and a upstream kernel option, there's nothing for us to do. We cannot fix the old media, and the new media will have a newer kernel, completely negating this bug. As such, I'm marking this as RESOLVED-UPSTREAM, since the kernel.org guys already fixed this, and adding the option reported by the bug poster works around the issue.
