I have the following error when trying to emerge libpcre-7.3:

!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /mnt/backup/portage/dev-libs/libpcre/libpcre-7.3.ebuild
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 1111
!!! Expected: 1112

Seems like a simple mis-match of file sizes?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. (sync) and then emerge libpcre-7.3
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /mnt/backup/portage/dev-libs/libpcre/libpcre-7.3.ebuild
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 1111
!!! Expected: 1112


Expected Results:  
Emerges as normal
