Hi! There seems to be an issue with Linux Libertine 2.6.9 and OpenOffice.org and possibly any other application using the font. After emerging media-fonts/libertine-ttf-2.6.9 I can only see two fonts in OOo: 1. "Linux Libertine" 2. "Linux Libertine C" (Capital Letters) The problem is, that the 1st font is the underlined version, which should be: 3. "Linux Libertine U" (Underlined) I tried the previous version, Linux Libertine 2.5.9: here all three variants of the font are there. So I would suggest to put media-fonts/libertine-ttf-2.5.9 also into the tree and, if no one else experiences a bug, make the 2.5.9 stable. Can anyone else confim the bug with 2.6.9? Greetings, Andreas.
*** Bug 194411 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
also refer to bug #121217 for some details (e.g. attachtment #132253 libertine-ttf-2.5.9.ebuild)
Can anyone confirm this? Or is it just on my system, am I doing something stupid here that makes 2.6.9 not work for me? Anyone?
I can confirm this, using ~amd64.
Thank you, Johannes Krause! Finally someone who can confirm this bug... So what happens next? Please put media-fonts/libertine-ttf-2.5.9 into portage too... Andreas.
can you try libertine-ttf-2.7.9? i believe it's been fixed in this release.
(In reply to comment #6) > can you try libertine-ttf-2.7.9? i believe it's been fixed in this release. > Yes, 2.7.9 works like 2.5.9 does. Ebuild from bug #121217 works when renamed to 2.7.9 version. Thanks for the advice!
not upstream.
you could also use the version in portage ;)
Please read here: http://linuxlibertine.sourceforge.net/Libertine-EN.html#download Look at "Known Problems", 3rd statement: "Since summer 2007 there seemed to have been a more or less linux wide change of the font management. Since then the Underlined of Libertine is shown instead of the Regular and the Regular isn’t available anymore. There are two possibilities to avoid this fault. You can either download version 2.7 (or newer) or delete the Underlined from your system." So the newer version 2.7.9 fixes this. Up until yesterday I had version 2.6.9 in the portage tree, with witch I get this error (as expressed in the original comment #0). This bug is not existant with an earlier version, e.g. 2.5.9, or the new version 2.7.9, which is in portage now - thanks (I just "emerge -sync"'d and found out about it...) If I consider that the official developers of the Libertine font know about this problem and that they state that it is fixed in version 2.7 than I can say that it has been fixed upstream. But maybe I get it wrong again. Greetings, Andreas.
