Option 1: Using Linux rlimits with PAM "the pam USE flag should be enabled on the two respective packages (sys-apps/baselayout and at least for sys-apps/vixie-cron )." Current stable sys-apps/baselayout-1.12.9-r2 does not have pam USE flag.(nether does the ~ ones) A small typo or a recent change: sys-apps/vixie-cron should be sys-process/vixie-cron Thank You For Your Time
Not a GDP problem. Should have been filed under project-specific documentation and assigned to the owner of that project, in this case, sound@gentoo.org, as the doc is in /proj/en/, not /doc/en/.

I've changed it to sys-process/vixie-cron, but there is a USE="pam" in baselayout 2 which will enter ~ soon enough and it says "sys-apps/baselayout _and at least for_ sys-apps/vixie-cron" which is enough for me. Considering this fixed. Thanks.
