Similar to bug I reported with rsync, start stop daemon says webmin died when it is in fact running. It says this on boot or on a manual restart from the command line.Exact log ouput [/etc/init.d/webmin] start-stop-daemon: /usr/libexec/webmin/miniserv.pl died [/etc/init.d/webmin] ERROR: webmin failed to start Unlike rsync bug, occurs with rc parallel=yes and rc parallel=yes. Also occurs on older pentium II machine that on which rsync bug did not occur. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.rc-update add webmin default 2.reboot 3.or /etc/init.d/webmin restart (or start) Actual Results: see above description Expected Results: no error message
Try removing --make-pidfile from the init script
Fixed in webmin-1.370-r1
