try running it under strace and see what fails. Best guess is you're missing a use flag.
Created attachment 132136 [details] strace Full strace output I get from holotz-castle.
Hm, it seems the culprit is in the options/preferences. So far I noticed it segfaults: * when I choose "fullscreen" under Window * when I choose "32" under BPP
holotz-castle doesn't use USE flags. I suppose this could be an upstream bug. It does seem odd to me that it depends on both opengl and sdl at the same time (and not opengl as USE). But then again, that might be as it has to be.
Is this still a problem with holotz-castle-1.3.14?
holotz-castle 1.3.8 and 1.3.10 has been replaced by 1.3.14. 1.3.14 runs properly under amd64 for me. Then, I suggest to close this bug.
great, thanks for checking.
