CCing Carpaski, in case this is a portage issue.
this is caused by dependencies in xine-dvdnav-0.9.13.ebuild DEPEND = ">=media-libs/libdvdcss-0.0.3.3 >=media-libs/libdvdread-0.9.2 =media-libs/xine-lib-0.9.13* =media-libs/libdvdnav-0.1.3*" changing the third line to >=media-libs/xine-lib-0.9.13* resolved the problem for me.
whoops... changing the dependencies resolved the portage problem, but now xine-dvdnav won't compile.
xine-dvdnav is not needed anymore for xine-lib-1.x (included now)
After unmerging xine-dvdnav the conflict with the xine-libs was solved. Thanks.
Is this still a concern? I assume there must be a reason that 4 devs have left this bug open. Any additional comments that can be made if that is the case? Is the related to another bug?
yes still an issue, still having same type of issue with xine-lib-1_rc0-r3 & xine-lib-0.9.13-r3 wanting to be installed at the same time, when installing xine-lib-1 you must uninstall 0.9 but it wants to reinstall xine-lib 0.9 with a -uDUp
The problem are outdated xine plugins that depend on the older xine-lib. Unmerge all plugins mentioned in bug 30842 and the old xine-lib should no longer get pulled in.
0.9 and 1 are now Slotted
