With PE2950, ipmitool-1.8.9 no longer returns any CPU temp values. It works with 1.8.6 and 1.8.8. Is there anything more recent on the matter on the upstream list that you linked to? If you've got a fix, attach it here. I don't have access to much IPMI hardware anymore (I used to have access to lots) - the one Tyan system that I do have, didn't work at all under older versions, but does work in 1.8.9.
I haven't seen any response from you. It's an upstream issue, if you haven't taken it up on their list, I suggest you do so. There is a new version in the tree now anyway.
