Hi, I recently updated tilda, which also updated the vte as well. I got a strange behaviour with tilda but narrowed it down to vte version above 0.14.2, for example 0.16.8. When I unhide the tilda window it blinks one or two. This is not a real problem but after hiding and unhiding the content of the terminal changes. Say the last "view" disappears. More precisely it can be found if the terminal is scrolled up. Another interesting thing that some additinal lines appear. I created some images to make it more understandable. Additionally this message appears while starting tilda: (tilda:27847): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_window_set_geometry_hints: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed With vte 0.14.2 everything works fine, and no message either. Regards, Zsolt

I have exactly the same issues.
It's even worse for me with vte-0.16.9/gtk+2.12 It'll eventually stop working after a few show/hides.
Same for me. If I hide/unhide Tilda, there is only a blank white window.
Has anybody bugged upstream about this yet?
tilda isn't maintained by gnome; reassigning to the maintainer. Keeping gnome in cc.

not works for me removing the .tilda dir... same problem of #5 and #6
(In reply to comment #11) > not works for me removing the .tilda dir... same problem of #5 and #6 > Yes, it reappeared today :'(
Seems that it works ok again after updating to gnome-2.20 :-/
Created attachment 137543 [details] tilda-9999.ebuild I am now trying with CVS version, I got the ebuild from forums.gentoo.org Seems to work ok for, maybe if other people could check this a package with current CVS could be done...
the cvs ebuild works for me on both x86 and amd64
I am not going to add a cvs ebuild to portage, sorry - you could probably get it added to Sunrise, however it doesn't get heavy development. Closing this bug since its stated to be fixed with latest stable vte.
Maybe a CVS snapshot could help :-/
Created attachment 138382 [details] tilda-0.9.5.ebuild version 0.9.5 released this and some others bugs was fixed * Tabs now loop to beginning/end for next/prev * Better animation support * Major code reorganization * Make WWW links Ctrl+Left Click to open in a web browser * Remove old configuration conversion script * Updated documentation * Use glade to generate the config wizard * Fixed clear/reset issue * Switched to Gnome shortcut keys * Fixed background scrolling bug * Gettextize for translations * Added true transparency * Made scrollbar off by default * Fixed another bug in getting the new lock file (Thanks Wilberding) * Removed resize/move from hide when animation is turned off. Hi, Unfortunately I did an update on the vte (current version 0.16.8) and the problem I described in my first commit still available in tilda version 0.9.5. The other problem is that the last vte which worked fine (0.14.2) is no longer available in portage tree.

(In reply to comment #20) > 0.9.6 version works ok for me, and you? For me too.
Are you ok with closing this as FIXED then?
(In reply to comment #22) > Are you ok with closing this as FIXED then? Yes, of course.
Thanks
