I used Adobe Acrobat Reader (acroread-7.0.9-r1) to generate a PS from a PDF by printing to file (both files attached). When I open the generated PS in gv (gv-3.6.2-r1), everything looks OK. But when I open it in evince, the pages are cut. On the other hand, if I open the PDF with evince and generate (print) a PS from it, gv shows the pages like they are layouted in the PDF whereas evince renders them as they should be printed (but now everything is visible). I suggest that evince misinterprets some postscript commands. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the attached PDF 2. Open the attached PS in evince and compare with the PS opened in gv Actual Results: evince does not render the PS correctly Expected Results: evince should render it like gv does Portage 2.1.3.9 (default-linux/x86/2007.0/desktop, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.5-r4, 2.6.20-gentoo-r8 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.20-gentoo-r8 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.66GHz Timestamp of tree: Sun, 16 Sep 2007 21:50:01 +0000 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] app-shells/bash: 3.2_p17 dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.33-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r3, 2.4.4-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r6 sys-apps/baselayout: 1.12.9-r2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.17-r1 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.24 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.21 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=i686 -mtune=pentium3 -O3 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /etc/ppp /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/bind /var/www/localhost" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/php/apache2-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cgi-php5/ext-active/ /etc/php/cli-php5/ext-active/ /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c" CXXFLAGS="-march=i686 -mtune=pentium3 -O3 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="ccache distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans userfetch userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/gentoo" LANG="en_DK.UTF8" LC_ALL="en_DK.UTF8" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages --filter=H_**/files/digest-*" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.au.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow 3dnowext X X509 a52 aac ace acl acpi admin aim alsa amr ao apache2 arts asf async audacious audiofile automount bash-completion bdf berkdb binary-drivers bitmap-fonts bl bluetooth bonjour bzip2 cairo capi caps cddb cdparanoia cdr cli colordiff cpudetection cpufreq cracklib crypt css cups cyrus dbus dga dri dts dvb dvd dvdnav dvdr dvdread dvi ecc eds emboss encode esd evo fam fastcgi fat ffmpeg firefox flac flatfile fortran ftp gcj gdbm gif gimpprint gnome gpm gs gstreamer gtk gtk2 hal hddtemp icecast iconv icq id3 idea idled idn imagemagick imap ipv6 irc isdnlog jabber java5 javascript jce jpeg jpeg2k kde kerberos lame latex ldap libnotify mad matroska md5sum midi mikmod mime mmap mmx mng modplug mp3 mp3rtp mp4 mp4live mpd mpeg mpeg2 mpi mplayer mpu401 msn mudflap musepack musicbrainz nas ncurses nfs nis nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin ntfs offensive ogg oggvorbis opengl openmp osc oscar oss pam pcre pdf perl php pmu png pnm portaudio posix pppd pulseaudio python qt3 qt3support qt4 quicktime rar readline real realmedia reflection replytolist rt61pci rtc sasl screen sdl sensord server session shorten silc smime smp sox speex spell spl srt sse sse2 ssl svg swat syslog sysvipc szip tcpd tetex tga theora threads tiff tivo tools transcode transparency truetype truetype-fonts type1 type1-fonts unicode unsupported_8bit upnp urandom usb uuencode vcd vidix vim-syntax vorbis vorbis-psy wav wavpack widescreen wifi win32codecs wma wmf wmp x264 x86 xcomposite xext xml xorg xpm xprint xscreensaver xv xvid yahoo yv12 zip zlib" ALSA_CARDS="usb-audio" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="fglrx radeon ati vesa" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS

I don't see why this would be a gentoo only problem. Please send a bug report upstream as it is clearly not something we can fix on our own. I've read a bit of the ps file from adobe and it seems it's using the "rotate" keyword every now and then to render the form in the correct orientation, however the background/bounding box doesn't seem to follow. Closing as upstream.
