It's unable to uncompress any .rar file using:
unrar -x file.rar

Also seems unmaintained , maybe a candidate to drop...

unrar-gpl can extract rar archives created with winrar 2.9 or older. While this is a rather big limitation, it does still have some use.

#193710 is related, this ebuild seems quite outdated.

I've bumped to latest cvs. From my tests, it seems that it unpacks much more formats. I tried packing something with latest rar for linux and it could be unpacked with it, so I assume this as fixed.

If you still encounter problems with archives, please leave me a message (together with the rar-version that created the archive), then I'll add a warning to the ebuild.
