The upgrade from sox-13.0.0 to sox-14.0.0 fails during the configuration process. I don't know what to say at this point. Here is the log of the error. You can ask if you want any more information.

Also, nothing critical here, leave the severity values alone if you are unsure what to choose please.

I had the same problem. My problem was that libsndfile was linking to a non-existing libFLAC. A reemerge of libsndfile made that particular config error go  away. I also had to reemerge ffmpeg. After that though, sox compiled and installed just fine.

Reemerging libsndfile and ffmpeg fixed this problem.

I didn't realise there were 2 logs so I attached the one I saw it ask for.
