It happened to me twice ... 1. while downloading large torrent (more files, some GB's all together) everything looks to be OK and "seeding" starts ... 2. after some time of uploading error about "corrupted data" occurs and automatic "data scanning" starts ... 3. then few "broken" chunks are redownloaded, message about "completed" download is displayed and seeding starts again for a while, but then it goes to point 2 I was curious what's going on, so I made checksums of all files immediately after "fail" and also after "successful" redownload, but no diff's found (as I expected). So there is a possibility, that "torrent" is broken and data are redownloaded broken again and again, but ktorrent should detect it and solve it in more intelligent way (checking and scanning the some GB's of data every 5 minutes, thousends times pro day in neverending loop is definitely not a solution) Reproducible: Sometimes
This should be fixed in ktorrent-2.2.2. Please try that and report back.
Just emerged and started it, but actually no GUI available i.e. it runs on background only ... be patient, I'm gonna to play around.
ok, after removing ~/.kde3.5/share/config/ktorrentrc it starts with gui to check "neverending loop" problem I run "Data integrity check" at first on "problematic torrent", which recognized, that only one file was downloaded so I loaded "Info widget plugin" and reassigned files to download again, after few minutes "download was completed", seeding started and then, guess what ? ... neverending data scanning started again :-( if somebody like to recheck the problem, here is the link to "problematic torrent": http://www.btmon.com/Video/Unsorted/Prison.break.season.2.torrent.torrent (I downloaded parts 13-22 only)
