I'm using Kopete 0.12.5 (kde 3.5.7) and where Gaim is able to login to a jabber server (chat.bytemark.co.uk) without any problems, Kopete fails. The settings in Gaim are: server: chat.bytemark.co.uk Resource: Gaim Use TLS if available (ticked) Port 5222 Settings in KDE are: server: chat.bytemark.co.uk Resource: Kopete Priority: 0 Use protocol encryption (SSL) (ticked) Override default server information (ticked) Port: 5222 The error I get is: There was a Transport Layer Security (TLS) error: Failed to establish a secure connection. Trying Kopete with port 5223 results in being repeatedly asked for my username and password, despite providing them correctly, and working in Gaim. Reproducible: Always
Add your "emerge --info", please, and the output of "emerge -pv kde-base/kopete".
