Description Gene Shepherd 2003-04-11 20:57:45 UTC
When I tried to install Limewire using their java installer everythign worked
fine and no errors were reported, however the interface was non responsive to
mouse clicks. It would respond to keyboard commands but did not to mouse clicks.

I unmerged the package and emerged ibm-jdk and was able to install Limewire and
run it with no problem, therefore leading me to believe it is a problem with teh
blackdown-jdk ebuild/package...

If any other information is needed feel free to contact me at: shepherg@engr.sc.edu

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install and run the Limewire GUI based APP (http://www.limewire.org)

Actual Results:
Everything seemed fine but the interface was non responsive to mouse clicks

Expected Results:
responded to mouse clicks

Portage 2.0.47-r10 (default-ppc-1.4, gcc-3.2.1, glibc-2.3.1-r4)

this has been a long standing (known) problem with the blackdown releases, it has never
worked for them, I think it's all swing based. The only solution is the ibm-jdk
unfortunately, blackdown knows of and has done nothing with this problem for over a
year now
Comment 2 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2003-06-28 16:37:03 UTC
please use ibm-jdk (1.4.1 available)
Comment 3 Pieter Van den Abeele (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-10-11 04:44:22 UTC
can be closed - please reopen if problem persists with ibm jdk
