After update to =x11-drivers/xf86-video-i810-2.1.1 no matter which resolution I choose whole screen is covered, I have a laptop which has a wide-screen and not wide-screen resolutions become stretched. I've turned off this feature in bios and with i810 driver <2.0.0 it worked - I had black fields around my screen, but now this feature is gone and I can't switch to a "normal" 4:3 resolution properly. Reproducible: Always

I have a similar problem when starting with a connected tv-screen. The resolution is reduced to 1024x768, but the screen on the laptop fills the hole 1400x1050 with a repeated (but scaled down) background image. Only the upper left part is usable. I'm using xorg-server-1.4 on a Samsung X20.
I've just added a snapshot of the upcoming 2.2.1 release, as upstream wants more testing before making official releases. Please try this snapshot along with xorg-server-1.4.0.90. If it isn't fixed, please open a bug in freedesktop's bugzilla [1] and paste the url here. Thanks [1] https://bugs.freedesktop.org/
Ping :) Any updates here? I've just pushed 2.2.1 to portage. Could you try it out? Thanks
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13505 It is still not resolved.
Ok, thanks for pointing it out. We'll track this bug upstream.
